Llewellyn Attilan Shelton Jr. (1 March 1904 – 15 December 2014) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2022. At the time of his death, he was the third-oldest known man in the United States, behind Conrad Johnson and Wash Wesley.
Biography[]
Llewellyn Shelton was born in San Francisco, California, USA, on 1 March 1904 to English-born Llewellyn Shelton Sr. and half-German Bertha P. (née Kapperman) Shelton. He was the only child born to his parents. In June 1929, aged 25, he married 23-year-old Gladys Bess Cohen.
Shelton died in San Rafael, California, USA, on 15 December 2014 at the age of 110 years, 289 days. At the time of his death, he was the seventh-oldest known man in the world, behind Sakari Momoi, Yasutaro Koide, Israel Kristal, Tomoichi Kubota, Conrad Johnson and Wash Wesley.
