Lloyd Henry Myers (20 March 1892 – 1 February 2003) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Lloyd Myers was born in Smithfield Township, DeKalb County, Indiana, USA on 20 March 1892. His parents were John Myers (1860–1946) and Mary (née Freed) Myers (17 July 1872 – 21 May 1926). He had four siblings.
Myers married Myra Goodwin (17 March 1894 – 10 September 1970) in DeKalb County, Indiana, USA on 7 May 1913. The couple had three children: Orville Myers (17 April 1915 – 16 February 1991), Mary Rank (29 May 1921 – 16 April 2021), and Doretha Curry (23 June 1923 – 9 November 2012). Myra died in 10 September 1970. He worked as a farmer in DeKalb County from 1925 to 1944. He owned and operated a dairy serving the small towns of Ashley and Hudson for 11 years, then moved to Auburn and worked at Kroger, Leas Market, the Gamble store and Auburn City Hardware.
Myers married Ursula (née Getz) Drerup (2 May 1896 – 10 June 1990) in Auburn, Indiana, USA on 20 November 1972. Ursula died in 10 June 1990. At the age of 101, he moved to Betz Nursing Home.
Myers died at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn, Indiana, USA on 1 February 2003 at the age of 110 years, 318 days. He was survived by two daughters and one stepdaughter. At the time of his death, he was the third-oldest known living man in the United States, behind John McMorran and Fred Hale.
