Lorenza Dotta-Dughera (7 August 1894 – 11 January 2007) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest person in Italy at the time of her death aged 112 years, 157 days.
Biography[]
Lorenza Dotta was born in Torino, Piedmont, Italy on 7 August 1894. She married a man with the surname Dughera and was later widowed. Her claim was verified by Giovanni Alunni and validated by the GRG on 11 September 2005. On 4 September 2006, she became the oldest living person in Italy following the death of 112-year-old Giulia Sani-Casagli.
Dotta died in Torino on 11 January 2007 at the age of 112 years, 157 days. She was the eighth-oldest person ever to die in Italy at the time of her death, and was succeeded as Italy’s oldest living person by Maria Negri (1895–2007), who died two days later.
