Louise Bruss (née Memmler; 30 May 1874 – 11 February 1985) was a validated American supercentenarian.
Biography[]
Louise Bruss was born as Louise Memmler in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, USA on 30 May 1874. Her parents were Frederick and Marie Memmler. Bruss was the youngest of five children. Frederick was in the building business and later started a hotel company. She worked as a seamstress and also worked for Red Cross during World War 2. She married city treasurer John Bruss in 1926. He already had two children at the time, from a previous marriage. John died when he was in his 80s. She subsequently lived with a niece for seven years before moving to a nursing home.
Louise Bruss died in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA on 11 February 1985, at the final age of 110 years, 257 days.
