Luan Riming [Chinese: 栾日明] (12 September 1897 - 12 June 2008) was a Chinese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Luan Riming claimed to have been born on 12 September 1897 by gregorian calendar (16 August 1897 by Chinese lunar calendar, so the birthday celebration varies between September and October depending of the year) in Xinglu Village, Penglai Town, Yantai, Shandong, Qing dynasty (China).

Luan's family was poor, so she learnt to take positive things from the difficulties of the life. At age 23, she married her husband, who came fron Guanli Village. They had eight children (a 80-year-old son and a 83-year-old daughter surviving as of 2007). Her husband died at age 51 of illness, because he hadn't much money to pay a treatment.

In October 2006, Luan celebrated her 109th birthday with the five generations of her family. At that time, she lived with her son, and her daughter-in-law Liu Piqin [Chinese: 刘丕琴] celebrated her 81st birthday. She was reported to be the oldest living person in Yantai.

Luan died at 3 p.m. in 12 June 2008 in Guanli Village, Penglai Town, Yantai, Shandong, China, at the age of 110 years, 274 days (110 years, 301 days by Chinese lunar calendar). She wasn't ill. She was survived by 49 descendants, in five generations. Her daughter-in-law said: "An half-month before her death, my mother-in-law couldn't eat anymore, just drinking milk. Some days before her departure, she took my hand and said: "Wait that I grow older, don't cry !"."
