Lucie Neumann (16 September 1906 – 19 February 2017) was German supercentenarian. She is currently unvalidated.
Biography[]
Lucie Neumann was born in Berlin on 16 September 1906. She was married to Wilhelm Neumann, a painter. They managed their own business and survived the bombardements of Berlin, living in a tent after it at Wannsee. In 1960, they moved to her husbands family in Dusseldorf where he died 4 years later in 1964. The couple never had children and she never was engaged anymore. Later Neumann worked as businesswoman in the media.
Neumann lived in her own flat until age 107, did her tax return at age 109 and was still interested in banking and stock marketing. She enjoyed writing, reading, opera but also traveling by bus around Europe so she was also able to speak English and French fluently.
On her 110th birthday she mentioned social life would be the secret of happiness, not money. Lucie Neumann died on 19 February 2017 at the age of 110 years, 156 days.
