Lucy Walker Hoyle (née Welfley; 17 June 1880 – 27 August 1992) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Lucy Hoyle was born as Lucy Walker Welfley in Honeyville, Page County, Virginia, USA on 17 June 1880. Her parents were John Preston Welfley and Margaret Jane Chadwick. In May 1906, she married Thomas Crawford Hoyle and had three children. At some point in her life, she moved to North Carolina.
In June 1990, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
Lucy Hoyle died in Clinton, Sampson County, North Carolina, USA on 27 August 1992 at the age of 112 years, 71 days.
