Biography[]
Luong Thi Loi claimed that she was born in Khamkeut District, Bolykhamxay Province, Indochina (now Laos) in 1906. At the age of 32, she emigrated to Vietnam with the three children she had with her first husband. There, she remarried with a Thai man, who died in 1980.
Luong had twelve children (six sons and six daughters) from her two marriages. Her youngest daughter was born in 1964. One of her sons, Lo Thanh Vinh [Vietnamese: Lô Thanh Vĩnh] (born 1942), died during the Tet Offensive in 1968.
In 1994, Luong began to suffer blindness. As of 2017, she had over 50 descendants (counting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren).
