Magdalena Kytnerova [Czech: Magdalena Kytnerová] (17 March 1911 – 8 December 2019) was an Austrian-born Czech centenarian who was the oldest known living person in the Czech Republic at the time of her death.

Biography[]

Magdalena Kytnerová was born in Mödling, Lower Austria, Austria-Hungary (now Austria), on 17 March 1911. After her parents died of the Spanish flu in 1918, she was raised by her grandmother and aunt. In 1942, she married Evžen Kytner and moved to Brno, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). The couple had two children, a daughter and a son.

On 26 August 2019, following the death of 109-year-old Marie Schwarzová, she became the oldest known living person in the Czech Republic.

Magdalena Kytnerová died in Kroměříž, Zlín Region, Czech Republic, on 8 December 2019, at the age of 108 years, 266 days. Following her death, the then 108-year-old Marie Holíková became the oldest known living person in the Czech Republic.
