Magdalini Pavlidou [Greek: Μαγδαληνή Παυλίδου] (28 June 1915 – 20 June 2024) is a Turkish-born Greek centenarian who was one of the last surviving witnesses of the Pontian genocide in 1922. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Greece.

Biography[]

Magdalini Pavlidou was born in Pontus, Ottoman Empire (present-day Black Sea Region, Samsun Province, Turkey) on 28 June 1915. In 1922, at the age of seven, she moved to Greece due to the genocide. She gave birth to a total of nine children.

She became the oldest known living person in Greece, following the death of 109-year-old Kallistheni Meleonitou on 12 November 2023.

Magdalini Pavlidou died in the village of Charitomeni, Drama, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Greece on 20 June 2024 at the age of 108 years, 358 days. Following her death, then 108-year-old Paressa Orfanidou became the oldest known living person in Greece.
