Maimouna Al-Amine (1890? – 29 June 2020) [Arabic: ميمونة الامين] was a Lebanese longevity myth.

Biography[]

Maimouna Al-Amine claimed to have been born in Fneideq, Akkar, Ottoman Empire (now Lebanon) in 1890. After her marriage, she moved in Dababiya, Akkar. She was widowed in 1975.

Al-Amine was discovered by Lebanese medias in 2012. On 31 December 2012, she celebrated her claimed 122nd birthday with her son Hassan (born 1931) and her grandchildren. In March 2016, at the claimed age of 125, she was still able to dance to the dabke.

In September 2018, Al-Amine was hospitalized in Halba, Akkar due to a health problem. She was discharged on 4 September 2018. In December 2019, she became paralyzed.

Al-Amine died at a hospital in Halba, Akkar, Lebanon on 29 June 2020, at the claimed age of 130 years.
