Malene Lund (née Egede; 6 June 1877 – 27 January 1979) was the first Greenlander centenarian.
Biography[]
Malene Lund was born Caroline Malene Justine Haldora Egede in Narsaq, Qaqortoq, Greenland on 6 June 1877. She married Henning Jakob Henrik Lund, a lyricist, painter and priest.
Lund is the third-oldest person ever from Greenland, after Agnethe Fencker and Anton Geisler. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person ever in Greenland.
Malene Lund died in Narsaq, Kujalleq, Greenland, on 27 January 1979 at the age of 101 years, 235 days.[1] Her son, Adolf (Dolfe) Lund (20 June 1912 – 26 November 2010) lived to age 98.[2]
