Manuel Rodrigues Horta (16 March 1908 – 22 August 2016) was a Portuguese centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Portugal since the death of 109-year-old Manuel dos Santos on 16 May 2015, until his own death in August 2016.
Biography[]
Manuel Rodrigues Horta was born in Entroncamento, Santarem District, Portugal on 16 March 1908. He lived in his house in the parish of Our Lady of Fatima. He had two daughters, one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren. He was not a football fan, but he loved singing and playing drums.
On his 105th birthday in 2013, he had three living siblings: his younger brother was aged 97 and his two sisters were 93 and 90 years old at that time.
Rodrigues Horta died in Entroncamento, Santarem District, Portugal on 22 August 2016, aged 108 years, 159 days.
