Manuela Aragon Arenas [Spanish: Aragón] (30 June 1906 – 26 June 2018) was a Mexican supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Manuela Aragon Arenas was born in Santa Maria Xonacatepec, Puebla, Mexico on 30 June 1906. Her parents were Jose Dolores Aragon and Benita Arenas. She studied at a school in Puebla with her sisters. Manuela's father was a teacher. Manuela studied until 5th grade.
She married Miguel Escalante and had six children: Leonardo, Miguel, Federico, Gloria, Amelia, and Arturo. For their wedding they had a big party with dancing and food. They lived for a while in the United States. Her husband worked in a factory in Puebla.
She really liked planting plants and taking care of them, she had a big park. She always had a great memory, she was able to remember the songs of the school games.
Aragon Arenas died in Mexico City, Mexico, on 26 June 2018 at the age of 111 years, 361 days.
