Marcelino Abad Tolentino (born 5 April 1900?) is a Peruvian longevity claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Guinness World Records (GWR). If his claimed age were validated, he would be the oldest living person in the world, as well as the oldest man (and person) ever.
Biography[]
Marcelino Abad claims to have been born in Huánuco, Peru on 5 April 1900. His claim is between an age range considered plausible by aging researchers; the oldest verified person ever was Jeanne Calment, who lived to be 122, and 125 to 130 is theorized to be approaching the biological limit for humans. As such, reaching the age of 125 is regarded as biologically possible. He would have held the title of world's oldest person since 15 September 2017. In addition, he would have been the last living person born in the 19th century.
Marcelino, called by the people of the Region as "Don Mashico", has been visited by the media multiple times, with the first time being in 2019, later in 2021, 2023, and last time on his claimed 124th birthday in 2024.
It was reported on his claimed 123rd birthday, he had suffered a fall in the last year which left him wheelchair-bound, Losing his Moustache. However, he was still in great health, and took no daily medications.
He claims to never had any children or wife, explaining that he was still standing in his earlier years because of his good nutrition and with the company of his two best friends, his dogs.
Abad Tolentino currently lives in Chaglla District, Peru, at the claimed age of 125 years, 219 days
