Margaret Jaman (née Olson; 21 July 1913 – 18 September 2023) was a Canadian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Margaret Jaman was born in Miami, Manitoba, Canada on 21 July 1913 to Runa and Thordur Olson. She was the oldest of five siblings and grew up in the Arbakka district.
She spent 14 years teaching in Southeast Manitoba. She married George Jaman in 1938 and they farmed in Arbakka until 1955 when they moved to Harwood, North Dakota, USA. They moved back to Manitoba in 1956 and lived in Dufrost until retiring to Steinbach. Her husband passed away in 1993. She was predeceased by her parents and her four siblings.
In 2005, Margaret moved from Steinbach to Park Manor Lodge in Transcona and then to Park Manor Nursing Home until her passing.
Margaret Jaman died in Manitoba, Canada on 18 September 2023 at the age of 110 years, 59 days.
