Margaret Bebb Lunn (14 March 1846 – 2 June 1953) was a British centenarian and the oldest living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Margaret Bebb Lunn was born in Kingston-upon-Hull, England, on 14 March 1846. She never married nor had any children, but was reported to have had over 50 great-nephews and great-nieces in addition to over 40 great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces at the time of her death.
On her 107th birthday, she was sent greetings from around the world but could not read them since she was blind but otherwise in good health. She became the oldest living person in the UK on 7 May 1953 (upon the death of Emma Rooke).
Margaret Lunn died on 2 June 1953 (Coronation Day) in Cheltenham, aged 107 years, 80 days. She was succeeded as the oldest living person in the UK by Sarah Humphrey.
