Margita Bindasova [Slovak: Bindasová] (22 February 1916 – 1 May 2022) was a Slovakian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Slovakia at the time of her death.

Biography[]

Margita Bindasova was born in Austria-Hungary (now Slovakia) on 22 February 1916 as the fourth of seven children. When she was young, her father moved to Canada to work. At the age of nine, she started to work as a farmer. When she was age 13, her mother died.

She married at the age of 17. Her husband died around 1988, after 55 years of marriage. She never had children.

She became the oldest known living person in Slovakia, following the death of 105-year-old Elvira Weiszova on 29 June 2021.

Bindasova died in Vechec, Presov, Slovakia on 1 May 2022 at the age of 106 years, 68 days.
