Eugenie-Marguerite Larmignat [French: Eugénie] (née Mesnard; 9 February 1911 – 11 July 2023) was a French supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2021.

Biography[]

Eugenie-Marguerite Mesnard was born in Chateauroux, Centre-Val de Loire, France on 9 February 1911. Her real first name is Eugenie-Marguerite, but she prefers to be called Marguerite, having always disliked Eugenie. Her earliest memory was at age 3, when the police announced her brother's death to her parents. During her life, she worked as a secretary (both as an executive secretary at an insurance company in Chartres and even at the military base in Deols). Her husband died in the 1960s. She moved to Nébouzat in 1997 and never left the department of Puy-de-Dome ever since. She moved to retirement home 'Les Roches de Saint-Ours-les-Roches' in October 2017.

She became the oldest living person in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, following the death of Marcel Meys on 15 December 2021.

Larmignat died in Saint-Ours, Puy-de-Dome, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France on 11 July 2023 at the age of 112 years, 152 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Puy-de-Dome departement and Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes.
