Marguerite H. Redmond (née Priestly; 1 December 1912 – 31 December 2022) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.

Biography[]

Marguerite Redmond was born in Yorkville, Oneida County, New York, USA on 1 December 1912 to John and Margaret (née Reilly) Priestly, as one of five daughters. Her father was born in England and her mother was born in Scotland. She married John Redmond in August 1936, with whom she had two daughters and a son. Her husband died in February 1968. She worked at Winship Luggage, and later became a seamstress at Doyle Knower.

In her later years, Redmond remained active with hobbies such as baking, reading, sewing, and flower gardening. She also regularly vacationed in Maine. Redmond had a hip replacement at the age of 98, and another one at the age of 100.

In 2018, Redmond moved into a nursing home in Utica, New York. On 1 December 2022, Redmond celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Redmond died in Yorkville, New York, USA on 31 December 2022, at the age of 110 years, 30 days.
