Maria Alaide Menezes (5 July 1912 — 30 March 2025) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Maria Alaide Menezes was born in Povoado Salgado, in Ribeirópolis, state of Sergipe, Brazil on 5 July 1912. She was the citizen responsible for reading the emancipation letter from the municipality of Ribeirópolis in 1933, when she was 21 years old. In that same city she became a teacher, performing the function for many years until she retired. On 5 July 2022, Menezes celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
Maria Alaide Menezes died in Ribeirópolis, Sergipe, Brazil on 30 March 2025 at the age of 112 years, 168 days.
