Maria Alves Duarte (10 July 1908? – fl.24 July 2020), also known as "Maria Baiana", was a Brazilian supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Maria Alves Duarte claimed to have been born in Bahia, Brazil on 10 July 1908. At some point in her life, she moved to Maranhao. Later, she moved to Aparecida do Rio Negro, Tocantins. She worked as farmer.
In July 2020, she celebrated her claimed 112th birthday. At the time, she had three children (including Eva Alves dos Santos), seven grandchildren (including Rosa), 20 great-grandchildren (including Elineide, Elinara, Geovana, Eduarda, Joao Marcos, Daniel, and Lais dos Santos (aged 11 in 2020)), and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Maria Alves Duarte was last reported to be alive on 24 July 2020, at the claimed age of 112 years, 14 days. At the time, she lived with her daughter Eva Alves dos Santos (aged 64 in 2020) in Aparecida do Rio Negro, Tocantins, Brazil.
