Biography[]

Araujo da Silva claimed to have been born on 21 October 1906 in Agricolandia, Piaui, Brazil [Portuguese: Agricolândia]. Her parents were Benedito Soares da Silva and Maria Raimunda da Conceicao. She had at least one daughter, Margarida (aged 86 in 2021). She is cared by two of her granddaughters, Deuzelina Araujo (aged 66 in 2021) and Cleide Araujo (aged 50 in 2021).

Araujo da Silva received the COVID-19 vaccine on 10 February 2021, at the claimed age of 114, possibly making her one of the oldest people to receive it. At the time, it was reported that she was blind and could no longer walk. Moreover, her granddaughter Cleide contracted the disease later that year and had been put in quarantine for 32 days.

Araujo da Silva was last reported to be alive on 10 February 2021 in Teresina, Piaui, Brazil, at the claimed age of 114 years, 112 days. If her claimed age were validated, she would be the oldest living person in Brazil. Her alleged birthday is coincidentally exactly two years later than Francisca Celsa dos Santos, who is the oldest validated person ever in Brazil.
