Maria Carmen Nouche Porro [Spanish: María] (15 September 1911 – 23 August 2022) was a Spanish supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Galicia.
Biography[]
Maria Carmen Nouche Porro was born in Barbeiros parish, Ordenes, La Coruna Province, Galicia, Spain on 15 September 1911. At the age of 21, she married and moved in Poulo parish with her husband. She was widowed during the Spanish Civil War.
Years later, Nouche Porro remarried. She always worked hard to raise her three children (she had two other children who died soon after their birth).
In September 2021, Nouche Porro celebrated her 110th birthday. She became the oldest known living person in Galicia, following the death of 111-year-old Maria Luisa Vazquez de Silva on 25 December 2021.
Maria Carmen Nouche Porro died in Poulo parish, Ordenes, La Coruna Province, Galicia, Spain on 23 August 2022, at the age of 110 years, 342 days.
