Maria Angela "Margiti" Crescini-Carrara (20 January 1904 – 17 December 2015) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the second-oldest living person in the Italian region of Lombardy at the time of her death, behind Emilia Zucchetti. However, since Zucchetti was born in Veneto, Crescini was the oldest person born in Lombardy.

Biography[]

Maria Crescini was born in Riva di Solto, Lombardy, Italy, on 20 January 1904. She married Giovanni "Arturo" Carrara and had eight children with him. She broke her femur aged 103, and had to move in with her daughter Irma as a result. In her later life, she was affectionately known as Margiti. On 13 March 2014, aged 110 years, 52 days, she broke the longevity record of the city of Bergamo, Lombardy, when she surpassed the age of Anna Maria Zanchi (1891-2002).

Crescini passed away in Riva di Solto, Lombardy, Italy, on 17 December 2015 at the age of 111 years, 331 days. She was the sixth-oldest person in Italy at the time of her death.
