Maria Felicia Roseiro Bento (13 April 1901 – 29 December 2011) was a Portuguese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person from Portugal.
Biography
Maria Felicia Bento was born in Alfafar, Penela, Coimbra District, Portugal on 13 April 1901. On her baptism record is mentioned that she was born on 8 April 1901. Her parents were Silverio Roseiro Bento and Felicia Augusta da Conceicao. Her mother was a teacher on Alfafar school, when Maria Felicia was born, as it says on her baptism record.
She celebrated her 110th birthday in 2011 and was living in Podentes, Penela at that time.
She became the oldest known living person from Portugal, following the death of 113-year-old Maria Luiza Nunes da Silva on 26 September 2011.
Bento died in Podentes, Penela, Coimbra District, Portugal on 29 December 2011 at the age of 110 years, 265 days. Following her death, then-109-year-old Maria do Carmo Fernandes became the oldest known living person from Portugal.
