Maria Isabel Leon Ramirez [Spanish: María Isabel León Ramírez] (17 June 1906 – 22 December 2018) was a Mexican supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Maria Isabel Leon Ramirez was born in San Miguel Pipillola, Tlaxcala, Mexico on 17 June/30 August 1906. Her parents were Joaquin and Maria de la Luz. She married Eligio Torres on 7 September 1927.

She was known as "Dona Chabelita". Even at the age of 111, she was able to walk and do chores around the house.

Leon Ramirez died of natural causes on 22 December 2018 at the claimed age of 112 years, 188 days. At the time of her death, the Mexican media considered her as the second-oldest living person in Mexico (behind Antonia Valderrama Ocampo, who is now confirmed born in 1907).
