Maria Jovita Garcia Pelaez (known as Sister Corazon Garcia; 4 September 1904 – 19 October 2014) was a Spanish-American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2021.
Biography[]
Maria Jovita Garcia was born in Francos de Tineo, Asturias, Spain on 4 September 1904. She entered the Congregation, in Madrid, on 9 October 1928. She moved to India in 1951, later to Mexico and the United States.
Maria Jovita Garcia passed away in Washington D.C., USA on 19 October 2014 at the age of 110 years, 45 days.
