Longevity claimant

Maria Leonor Morales de Lucero [Spanish: María] (1 July 1908? – 11 September 2022) was an Argentinian supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Maria Leonor Morales de Lucero claimed to have been born on 1 July 1908 in Carolina, San Luis, Argentina. However, she was not registered in her town's civil registry until 1919, meaning she may have been eleven years younger than claimed.

Maria Leonor Morales de Lucero died in Nogoli, San Luis, Argentina, on 11 September 2022, at the claimed age of 114 years, 72 days.

Potential Longevity Records[]

If Maria’s claimed age were validated, she would have been the oldest living person in Argentina from the death of Casilda Benegas on 28 June 2022, until her own death over two months later. She would have also been the second-oldest living person in Latin America (behind Inah Canabarro Lucas of Brazil), the 11th-oldest living person in the world, the second-oldest person ever recorded in Argentina (behind Benegas), and the oldest Argentinian-born person ever (being older than Evangelista Luisa Lopez by four days).
