Maria Low (German: Maria Löw) (25 January 1902 – 14 March 2012) was a German supercentenarian who was, at the time of her passing at age 110 years, 49 days, the second oldest living inhabitant of Bavaria. Her age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Low was born in Schnelldorf, district Grimmschwinden, on 25 January 1902. She was raised in humble homes and spent her whole life at her parent’s farm. She worked in the fields until aged 90.

She had one daughter with whom she shared her farm. At age 108 she was reported to have ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. It was also mentioned that she has never taken medicines. At the age of 109, she suffered from pneumonia two times.

On 14 March 2012, Low passed away at the age of 110 years, 49 days. She was suffering from senile decay spending her last weeks bedridden. She was the second-oldest known person in Bavaria behind Maria Osswald, who passed away 15 days later.
