Maria Mochi (1 January 1914 - 7 September 2024) was an Italian supercentenarian who is one of the oldest known survivors of COVID-19, having recovered from the disease at the ages of 106 and 109. Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024.

Biography[]

Mochi was born on 1 January 1914 in Colmurano, Marche, Italy. She worked as a cook in a kindergarten school. At one time moved out of her home and donated it to the local government so that it could be used as a school building.

Mochi lived in a nursing home in Urbisaglia, Marche, Italy since she was 106. In late 2020, she contracted COVID-19 during the coronavirus pandemic, but by 13 December she had tested negative, making her one of the oldest survivors of the disease. She went on to celebrate her 107th birthday in January 2021.

At the time of her 109th birthday in January 2023, she had tested positive for Covid-19 a second time.

In January 2024, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Maria Marchi died in Urbisaglia, Marche, Italy at the age of 110 years, 250 days. She was the oldest known living person in Marche, since the death of Domenica Ercolani on 17 November 2023.
