Maria Pereira (14 June 1868 – 24 June 1979) was a Portugese supercentenarian who is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Maria Pereira was born in Mondim da Beira, Viseu District, Portugal on 14 June 1868. Her parents were Antonio Jose Pereira and Maria Bernarda. Maria never married or had children. She moved to Lisbon when she was younger and worked as seamstress.
Pereira died in Sao Mamede, Lisbon, Portugal on 24 June 1979 at the age of 111 years, 10 days. If her age was true, she would have been the second-oldest living person in Europe, behind Josefa Llovet of Spain, who died just five days after Pereira.
