Maria Savva [Greek: Μαρία Σάββα] (18 January 1911 – fl.20 February 2016) was a Cypriot centenarian who was the oldest known woman in Cyprus when she went to limbo.
Biography[]
Maria Savva was born in Cyprus on 18 January 1911. She started working at the fields and vineyards of the area, first to help raise her brothers and sisters, and later, her four children. Savva was married to the folk poet Nicolas Theodorou. She had 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
On her 105th birthday in 2016, Savva was reported to be the oldest living woman in Cyprus.
Maria Savva was last known to be alive on 20 February 2016 at the age of 105 years, 33 days. At that time, she lived in Paphos, Cyprus.
