Maria da Conceicao Silva [Portuguese: Conceição] (21 May 1861 – 30 December 1966) was a Portuguese centenarian who was probably the oldest living person in Portugal at time of her death.
Biography
Maria da Conceicao Silva was born in Pombeiro da Beira, Arganil, Coimbra District, Portugal on 21 May 1861. Her parents were Jose Francisco de Matos and Jacinta da Cunha. At the age of 13, she moved to Lisbon to live with her older sister, where she remained the rest of her life.
She married with Jose Freire da Silva in 1885 and become a widow in 1938. The couple had four children.
She had three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren just before celebrating her 104th birthday in 1965.
Maria da Conceicao Silva died in Alcantara, Lisbon District, Portugal on 30 December 1966 at the age of 105 years, 223 days.
