Mariannina Genovese (15 October 1905 – 1 January 2019) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group. She was the first person from the Italian region of Sicily to reach the ages of 112 and 113.
Biography
Mariannina Genovese was born in Noto, Sicily, Italy on 15 October 1905. She never married.
Genovese died in the same place on 1 January 2019 at the age of 113 years, 78 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Sicily and the second-oldest living person in Italy behind then 115-year-old Maria Giuseppa Robucci. She was the first validated supercentenarian to die in 2019.
