Marie-Louise Rochambeau (6 November 1913 – 28 June 2023) was a French Guianese centenarian who was the oldest known living person in French Guiana at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Marie-Louise Rochambeau was born in Sainte-Marie, Martinique, on 6 November 1913. She had an only daughter, Marie-Therese (aged 81 in 2013), who married the French Guianese journalist Leo Monelly. She moved to French Guiana in 1968 to be near her daughter.
On her 100th birthday in 2013, Rochambeau was honoured by the mayor of Cayenne, Marie-Laure Phinera-Horth, who gave her the medal of the city. She became the oldest known living person in French Guiana, following the death of 110-year-old Koffie Dosoe on 19 July 2022.
Marie-Louise Rochambeau died in Cayenne, French Guiana, on 28 June 2023, at the age of 109 years, 234 days.
