Marie-Madeleine Saint-Laurent (née Borrut; 9 August 1912 – 14 March 2024) was a French supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Marie-Madeleine Saint-Laurent was born as Marie-Madeleine Borrut in Mane, Haute-Garonne, Occitanie, France on 9 August 1912. Her parents were Clement Borrut and Nieves "Agnes" Gerotina. She grew up in Catalonia, Spain. At the age of 8, her family came back to France and moved to Masseube, Gers.

At the age of 29, she married Georges Saint-Laurent, a soldier. They moved to Algeria (then French Algeria) in 1941. Following the Algerian War, they moved back to metropolitan France. Later, they moved to Chad. They later came back again to France, moving to Paris.

Saint-Laurent's husband retired at the end of the 60s. They first moved to Simorre (Gers), then to Auch in 1989. She was widowed in 2001. At the age of 107, she moved into the nursing home Les Jardins d’Agape in Auch. In August 2022, she turned 110 years old.

Saint-Laurent's age was verified by GRG-France Correspondent Sylvain Grosgeorge, and validated by the GRG on 14 January 2024.

Marie-Madeleine Saint-Laurent died at the Les Jardins d’Agape nursing home in Auch, Gers, Occitanie, France, on 14 March 2024 at the age of 111 years, 218 days. She was the oldest known living person in Occitanie (and in Gers department), , and the oldest known living person born in Occitanie following the death of Paulette Magne-Ducamin on 12 Jan 2024.
