Marie Behenska [Czech: Marie Behenská] (2 April 1905 – 20 May 2015) was Czech supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in the Czech Republic.

Biography

Marie Behenska was born in Blatna, Austria-Hungary (now Blatna, South Bohemia, Czech Republic) on 2 April 1905. She grew up in a lawyer's family and her husband was also a lawyer. At the age of 110, she had a daughter, two grandchildren, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She became the oldest known living person in Czech Republic, following the death of 109-year-old Vlastimila Ceskova on 7 January 2015. In April 2015, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Marie Behenska died in Plzen, Plzen Region, Czech Republic on 20 May 2015 at the age of 110 years, 48 days. Following her death, then 107-year-old Bedriska Koehlerova became the oldest known living person in the Czech Republic.
