Marie Berankova [Czech: Marie Beránková] (10 January 1897 – 5 February 2005) was a Czech centenarian who was the oldest living person in the Czech Republic at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Marie Berankova was born in Vysocina County, Austria-Hungary (now Czech Republic) on 10 January 1897. She attended primary school in Budkova. At the age of twenty-three, she married shoemaker Frantisek Beranek from Hlinsko. In her later years, she lived in Jihlava, Vysocina County. After a fall, she was bedridden for a few last years of her life.
She became the oldest living person in the Czech Republic, following the death of 110-year-old Emilie Dolezalova on 17 November 2004.
Berankova died in Jihlava, Vysocina County, Czech Republic on 5 February 2005 at the age of 108 years, 26 days.
