Marie Cowen (née Rambow; 13 September 1906 – 31 August 2018) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Marie Cowen was born as Marie Rambow in Britton, Michigan, USA, on 13 September 1906. Her parents were Henry and Caroline (née Weilnau) Rambow. She had three siblings, Earl Henry (1908–1983), Ruth (1910–2014) and David (1912–2005). Marie moved to Texas in 1929 and married a man named Cowen. She began married life living on a farm in West Bexar County, Texas. The couple had two children, Ruth Caroline and Louise Marie (both daughters). Cowen spent some years working in business offices in San Antonio, Texas.
Marie Cowen passed away in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on 31 August 2018, at the age of 111 years, 352 days. She was survived by daughters Ruth and Louise. Her younger sister, Ruth J. Piotter Bordt, died at the age of 104 on 13 December 2014.
