Marie Guerne (born 26 March 1912) is a Swiss supercentenarian who is currently the oldest known living person in Switzerland.

Biography

Marie Guerne was born in Lucerne, Canton of Lucerne, Switzerland on 26 March 1912. She married Henri Guerne in 1937. The couple had at least one son: Jean-Pierre Guerne.

She moved to London, for a linguistic stay, then joined Paris, and Saint-Moritz, to perfect her knowledge.

In April 2019, when she was 107, Guerne met with 100 year-old Verene Cuenin and 100 year-old Elisabeth Domon, setting a combined age of 307 years.

She became the oldest known living person in Switzerland since the death of Alice Schaufelberger-Hunziker on 16 November 2020, and the oldest known living person born in Switzerland following the death of Anna Leglise on 9 March 2021.

Guerne currently lives in Orvin, Canton of Bern, Switzerland, at the age of 110 years, 138 days.
