Marija Bandelj (6 March 1897 – 16 April 2005) was a Slovenian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Slovenia at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Marija Bandelj was born in Spodnje Škofije, Koper, Coastal–Karst, Austria-Hungary (now Slovenia), on 6 March 1897.
On 6 March 1997, she celebrated her 100th birthday, becoming a centenarian.
On 21 December 2000, following the death of 107-year-old Emilija Kancut, she became the oldest known living person in Slovenia.
Marija Bandelj died in Spodnje Škofije, Koper, Coastal–Karst, Slovenia, on 16 April 2005, at the age of 108 years, 41 days. Following her death, then 105-year-old Katarina Marinič became the oldest known living person in Slovenia.
