Marija Bandelj (6 March 1897 – 16 April 2005) was a Slovenian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Slovenia at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Marija Bandelj was born in the municipality of Koper, Slovene Littoral, Austria-Hungary (present-day Slovenia) on 6 March 1897.
In March 1997, she celebrated her 100th birthday and became a centenarian.
Marija Bandelj died in Spodnje Skofije, municipality of Koper, Slovene Littoral, Slovenia on 16 April 2005 at the age of 108 years, 41 days. Following her death, then-105-year-old Katarina Marinic became the oldest known living person in Slovenia.
