Marta Lapsa (21 June 1895 – 27 December 2005) was an Latvian-born American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Marta Lapsa was born in Rāmuļi, Cēsis, Russian Empire (present-day Latvia) on 21 June 1895. Her parents were Mikelis Lapsa and Maria (Zalite) Lapsa. During her life in Latvia, she worked as a teacher. She migrated to the United States in her adult life, where she initially was a resident of Wheaton, Illinois. Thereafter she moved to Paw Paw in 1978. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. She was a member of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo and loved horses, working out doors and keeping in touch with friends.
Marta Lapsa died at Lakeview Continuing Care Center in Lawton, Michigan, USA on 27 December 2005 at the age of 110 years, 189 days.
