Martha Knoles nee Mahan (2 July 1876 – 14 December 1986) was a validated American supercentenarian.
Biography[]
Martha Knoles was born as Martha Ann Mahan in Walker County, Georgia, USA on 2 July 1876. Her parents were Amanuel Rogers Mahan and Charity Patience Moore. She moved with her family to Comanche County when she was three years old. She moved to Idalou, Texas, in 1918, where she and her husband George William Knoles lived in a farm house between 1922-1933. They had two children. George died in 1958.
When she was 94, her eyesight was bad, but she was very active at the time and making various trips. She enjoyed fishing, listening to news and visiting church. When she was 100 years old, it was reported that she used a hearing aid, walker and a wheelchair.
Martha Knoles died in Idalou, Lubbock, Texas, USA on 14 December 1986, at the final age of 110 years, 165 days.
