Martin McEvilly (26 July 1916 – 9 October 2024) was an Irish centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Ireland at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Martin McEvilly was born in Killannin, County Galway, Ireland on 26 July 1916.
McEvilly married his wife Kathleen on 7 January 1946. They celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2021. At the time of their anniversary, they had seven children (three sons and four daughters), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathleen died from an illness later that same year on 15 September, at the age of 96.
Following the death of 108-year-old Mathew Crowley on 26 August 2022, McEvilly became the oldest known living man in Ireland.
Martin McEvilly died in Killannin, County Galway, Ireland on 9 October 2024 at the age of 108 years, 75 days.
