Mary ‘Mem’ Browne (1 November 1916 – 8 October 2023) was a Kittian and Nevisian centenarian who was the oldest living person in Saint Kitts and Nevis at the time of her death.

Biography[]

Mary Browne was born in Gingerland, Nevis, Saint Kitts and Nevis, on 1 November 1916.

At the age of 98, she could thread a needle without using glasses and read the Bible. On 1 November 2016, she celebrated her 100th birthday, becoming a centenarian.

On 30 November 2021, following the death of 106-year-old Una Duporte, she became the oldest living person in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Mary Browne died in River Path, Gingerland, Nevis, Saint Kitts and Nevis, on 8 October 2023, at the age of 106 years, 341 days. Following her death, then 103-year-old Eliza Jeffers, became the oldest living person in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
