Mary Doe (née Zoewar; 1 January 1912? – 15 February 2022) was a Liberian-born American supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If her claimed age is true, she would be the oldest person ever born in Liberia.
Biography[]
Mary Doe claimed to have been born in Glay town, Grand Geden County, Liberia on 1 January 1912, the daughter of Nuneh Zoewar and Seawar Zoewar.
She married Joseph Doe, and had four children: Esther Doe Bishop, Harry Joe, Zear Dolue, and Victor Doe.
Because of the First Liberian Civil War, Doe fled Liberia with her daughter Zeor Dolue, son-in-law Tailey Dolue, and their six children. They hid in the bushes during the days, and ran during the nights to reach Ivory Coast, where they lived in a refugee camp during 14 years. In 2004, they were able to migrate in the United States.
On 26 May 2004, Doe moved to Roanoke, Virginia. She obtained U.S. citizenship on 8 March 2013. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church for years until her death.
In January 2022, she celebrated her claimed 110th birthday.
Doe died in Roanoke, Virginia, USA on 15 February 2022 at the claimed age of 110 years, 45 days. At the time of her death, she had 19 grandchildren, and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
