Mary Lucretia Phelps (née Miller; 5 August 1900 – 19 November 2012) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group.

Biography[]

Phelps was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, USA, on 5 August 1900 to Andrew and May Miller. One of her sisters, Lulu Maude Miller (1894–1997), lived to be 102 and another sister, Sarah Helen Ziants (1912–2011), lived to be 99.

At the age of 17, Phelps moved to Akron, Ohio to work at Goodrich, building dirigibles during World War I. She was married for 53 years to her husband, Dennis Phelps. After her husband's death in 1980, Phelps moved to New Franklin, Ohio, live with her only child and caregiver, Cleta Boyce.

Phelps died in New Franklin, Ohio, USA, on 19 November 2012 at the age of 112 years, 106 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Ohio.
