Mary A. Bochanec Pollack (6 February 1896 – 24 July 2006) was a Slovakian-American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Pollack was born in Nizny Krucov [Slovakian: Nižný Kručov], Austria-Hungary (present-day Slovakia) on 6 February 1896. Her parents were Joseph and Anna Palcakova Bochanec.
She immigrated to the United States in 1920, became a citizen of the country in 1960, and spent most of the rest of her life in Sharon.
She married Michael G. Pollack on 20 January 1923, in St. Ann Church in Farrell. The couple had three daughters (two of them she predeceased). She was widowed in 1972.
She was a member of Catholic Sokol Wreath No. 29 and St. Ann Church, both Farrell. Pollack in her younger years loved crocheting, embroidery, canning, cooking, picking mushrooms and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pollack died in Sharon, Pennsylvania, USA on 24 July 2006 at the age of 110 years, 168 days.
