Mary Alice Rodgers (née Swope; 9 December 1888 – 14 August 2000) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Mary Rodgers was born as Mary Alice Swope in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, United States, on 9 December 1888 as the daughter of Charles Wesley Swope and Alice Ann (née Barras) Swope. On 22 June 1907, aged 18, she married Charles Ferron Hays in Harrisburg, with whom she had one daughter, Doris Underwood Hays (married Thompson), born on 2 October 1910. Rodgers’ second marriage was to William Rodgers.
Mary Rodgers died in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States, on 14 August 2000 at the age of 111 years, 249 days. She was survived by her daughter, who died in 2007 three weeks shy of her 97th birthday.
